Sites to see in the Fox Cities
As you travel to the top of beautiful Lake Winnebago, the Fox River will lead you through the Fox Cities in the heart of Wisconsin’s historic Paper Valley. Stretching from Neenah to Kaukauna the Fox Cities are 14 communities with a unique mix of urban style and small town warmth.

Home to the world’s largest concentration of paper mills and the state’s largest shopping mall, the Fox Cities offer an abundance of shopping, dining, entertainment and recreation options.

Along the shores of Lake Winnebago, the Heckrodt Wetland Reserve in Menasha is 60 acres of thriving wildlife with elevated boardwalk trails and a nature center. A few miles down the shore, the City of Neenah features "Millionaires Row" a number of historically significant and exceptionally well-preserved mansions that were built by local paper barons with names like Kimberly and Clark. The Bergstrom-Mahler museum is housed in one of these mansions and features the world’s largest and finest collection of glass paperweights. Just down the road, Kimberly Point Park is a wonderful place to watch the sunrise over Lake Winnebago.

Many Fox Cities attractions are just a short distance from the lake. Future scientists will love the Barlow Planetarium and Weis Earth Science Museum at the University of Wisconsin Fox Valley in Menasha. The Barlow offers changing seasonal shows in a state-of-the-art setting. The Weis is dedicated to the geologic history of Wisconsin and features interactive learning tools and exhibits on fossils, geology, paleontology and agriculture.

At the Fox Cities Children’s Museum in Appleton kids can explore the Amazing Heart, climb behind the wheel of a real fire truck, and play in the Happy Baby Garden. Nearby the 2,200-seat Fox Cities Performing Arts Center is home to touring Broadway productions and world-renowned entertainers.

Shoppers will want to explore Fox River Mall, the state’s largest, and home to major chains and unique retailers, including Scheel’s All Sports, a new, one-of-a-kind sporting goods mecca that serves golfers and skateboarders alike.

From Lake Winnebago sunrises and incredible natural beauty to cities bustling with industry and nightlife, the Fox Cities offer something for everyone at the tip of Lake Winnebago.
